We are excited to announce that Versantus is now certified by Great Place to Work!

We’ve been saying it for years now to anyone who will listen, even the Amazon delivery guys, we really are great! We weren’t lying when we said we have the funkiest, fun-ist and most fantastic working environment anyone’s heart could ever desire. We’re not just blowing our own trumpet here, it’s been made official by Great Place to Work UK (who, FYI have surveyed more than 100 million employees since 1992). This highly prestigious award is solely based on real-time reporting and insights into what employees say about their experience working at Versantus. So don’t say we didn’t tell you so!

Why was this important?

At Versantus, we pride ourselves on creating high-quality work for our clients, working as a collaborative team, working with integrity and continuously learning in order to keep at the top of our game in an ever-changing industry. With these core principles in mind, we truly believe that a positive workplace culture, excellent employee experience and mindful leadership is all essential for delivering market-leading revenue, a strong and dedicated workforce and ongoing innovation in the world of web design and development.

It is proven that Best Workplaces outperforms the market by an average 2-3% a year and on average receive 40% more applications per job role than their competitors without this certification.

How did we achieve this?

This accreditation doesn't come easily, and will require ongoing reviews and development into our employee experience. We created reports based on surveys undertaken by our employees regarding company-culture to examine areas in which our team felt that they were both happy in addition to areas where there was room for innovation; only with a high enough score from these assessments could we achieve accreditation.

Versantus has a flexible approach to work-life-balance, with hybrid-working and adjustment to daily hours where necessary. New starters have clearly constructed onboard plans, assigned buddies and detailed development plans which are monitored with regular 121’s with line managers.

In addition to this, Versantus values the importance of creating a culture of recognition within the workplace, believing it helps engage and develop our employees. With meaningful and intentional practices we make employee appreciation a core aspect of our business with cash prizes for our Employee of the Month, acknowledgment of achievements and the celebration of milestones!

Part of being a great place to work also means making sure that we are looking after our employee’s well-being and encouraging individuals to flourish both in and out of the workplace. According to Great Place to Work and a John Hopkins University survey of over 14,000 people, employee well-being affects both retention and employee referrals. 91% of the Versantus team said they would endorse the company as a great place to work to family and friends. Well-being extends beyond that of just physical health, but mental health tools and as part of our commitment to our workforce we offer financial support for well-being apps and subscriptions on top of important things such as flu jabs and eye-tests.

What are we doing now?

We don’t plan on stopping just here! Now that we have this amazing certification, we strive to continuously access our employee’s experience so we can keep supporting them in the best possible way. To do this as successfully as possible, we will be scrutinising the data and analysing areas in which our team felt we could be doing better. Going forward, we will implement the proper protocols and strategies that will enable Versantus to oversee these changes. We want to maintain our reputation as a Great Place to Work and be certified for the consecutive years ahead as we grow as a team and expand our services.
