Training & guidance with Talking Talent

Unilever was finding that new mums were about the impact of maternity leave on their career, were not able to keep in touch easily when on maternity leave, and often didn't return to work afterwards. The company was losing experienced, high-performing colleagues and wanted to find a way to improve matters for mums, dads and the organisation.

Working with Talking Talent, we helped Unilever to create a global training and engagement tool that supported new mums and dads throughout their pregnancy, allowed them to engage with the business through their baby's early years, and offered training and guidance to encourage them back to work when the time was right.

Bespoke coaching solutions

We created a fun, personalised quiz for parents-to-be, to test their knowledge of Unilever's maternity and paternity support. This sat alongside Talking Talent's bespoke training and coaching solution, all hosted on a Drupal website that we designed and built.

The quiz included an element of competition and social sharing, with a challenge to beat your colleague's time. A proactive email campaign and plenty of internal communications from the team at Unilever ensured this was a global success.

Increased engagement

The quiz saw fantastic levels of engagement amongst the Unilever family. Of those invited to take part, over 50% did, with over 1600 mums and dads taking part.  We're not sure how many babies were born.
